Discover the Bina Center

In Kabbalah, Bina (בינה) is one of the most important concepts and represents insight or deep understanding. It is the third of the ten Sefirot (divine emanations) and is associated with the power of analysis and intuitive understanding. Bina works together with Chochma (wisdom) to process and understand divine information, transforming abstract ideas into comprehensible and applicable forms.

About the Center
The Bina Center was founded by Rabbi Alejandro S. Bloch, who is Vice Chancellor of the Marshall T. Meyer Latin American Rabbinical Seminary. He is Professor of Jewish Theology in the Abraham Joshua Heschel Rabbinical Department of the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary and Mashpia Rujani, spiritual guide. In 1988 he received his private rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Yehuda Edery, and in 2005 from the Rabbinical Seminary. He studied Law and Philosophy. In January 2022, the JTS in New York City awarded him a Doctorate in Divinity. As a rabbi, he has represented the community in various governmental, non-governmental, and interfaith social forums. In his spiritual and intellectual formation, he has been able to nourish himself in traditional and academic Judaic frameworks, and in classical philosophy. His areas of specialization are the Hasidic movement, Maimonides, and Jewish theology with an emphasis on contemporary theology.
